Statement

Each one of my books describes the travel through time and space of a given shape as it unfolds in the hands and/or the eyes of the “reader”. The shapes are presented as defined absences, cut away from the surrounding clay or paper. The book’s “cover” proposes a certain shape – a circle for example – which the reader then experiences through a series of choreographed metamorphoses as he or she turns the pages, or sees layer behind layer.

As in life, unexpected complexities arise and surprising relationships occur, according to the evolving interactions of ink, blade and paper. I see these books as abstract autobiographical narratives, telling my story again and again from different angles, manifested in the book format.
