Statement
For over 20 years, Julia BĂĽttelmann has produced wonderful objects from paper and cardboard, including household utensils (so called love objects), series of shoes, scientific experiments, artificial collections, and costumes for mice. She also makes Flying Exhibitions. These are suitcases which contain objects using different themes, for example, Perception (a special performance for students, scientists and the man in the street).
Biography
Julia BĂĽttelmann was born in Bremen, Germany. She was always interested in paper. After school she apprenticed as a bookbinder and worked for many artists and printmakers. In 1989, she established her own workshop (Pappshow) and started her artistic paperwork. Her work can be seen in the collections of Kunstgewerbe Museum, Berlin; Grassi Museum, Leipzig; Landesmuseum, Stuttgart.
