Nastassia Page (b.1982)

Nastassia Page’s work, in both its content and media, reflects her passion for the seemingly banal. Personal responses to everyday encounters or events, such as forlorn looking, cracked paving stones or public signs which seem simultaneously authoritative yet silly, are carefully recorded using basic means: cell phone photography, standard office paper, black ballpoint pen, notice boards.

Her long-standing interest in stationery and many elements of the book stems, in part, from her name. She creates work which nods to page structure and even chapters but that is without linear structure, work that demands input from the viewer in terms of narrative and authorship.

Page graduated from the University of London’s Camberwell College of Art Book Arts MA course with a distinction in 2007. She has exhibited across the UK, recently producing work for her hometown of Chelmsford, covering its theater, shopping malls and public notice boards with pages of works on paper. Her work forms part of collections in England and Europe.

She was born in Essex in the UK and continues to live and work there. View CV as PDF.

Nastassia’s Page for Central Booking is Page’s first project outside the UK.
