Concertina book, poems by Jean Atkin, collages and unique covers by Hugh Bryden, boxed, 6 x 8 x 0.5 inches, edition of 5. $350
Hugh Bryden formed Roncadora Press in 2005 to allow him to create artists books and pamphlets and to explore book ideas that combine a good balance of words and images.
He aims to produce books combining poetry and printmaking in hand made objects that sit comfortably in the worlds of the poetry pamphlet and the artists book.
Hugh Bryden graduated from Edinburgh College of Art and worked in his native Dumfries and Galloway, Scotland as an art teacher for thirty years. Throughout his teaching career he continued to practice as a printmaker and painter. He was a regular exhibitor in national and international exhibitions and was involved for a number of years in the gallery business in Dumfries.
In August 2005 he gave up full time teaching to concentrate on printmaking and publishing artists books and poetry pamphlets. His Imprint Roncadora Press has won, and been shortlisted, for awards at the National Library of Scotland in Edinburgh and the British Library in London. His books are held in major collections in the UK and USA.
