Wonder is an emotion comparable to surprise, that people feel when perceiving something very rare or unexpected — yet not threatening. Historically, wonder is considered an important aspect of human nature, specifically being linked with curiosity and the drive behind intellectual exploration and development.
In this panel moderated by Deborah and Glenn Doering, DOEprojekts.org,in conjunction with the old Tech new Tech exhibition at CENTRAL BOOKING, we will explore emotional and intellectual motivations for using both old and new technologies in creating aesthetic objects and experiences. Panel members are scientist Trish MacKenzie, joined by artists Alexandra Limpert and Marianne R. Petit. Moderators and panel members will overview their work and then invite audience questions and comments. Please join us for a wonder-filled discussion!
