Games provide a distraction from the pattern of everyday life and give us the chance to utilize our skills, strengths and luck. The sculptures of Miriam Ancis recall the days of wire-and-bead toys. Joseph A. W Quintela updates the customary boggle board with LED lights. Marie Koo incorporates Chutes and Ladders into a circus while Margaret McCann’s pieces show details of Monopoly life. Benjamin Poynter’s playing cards and John Adam Walker’s rendering of chess pieces remind us of even earlier forms of gaming.
