Curator: Joyce Weinstein
Fusion provides insights into what contemporary mid-career artists are thinking about and the approaches and strategies they are using to express their ideas. While there are many mediums and styles employed, including painting, sculpture, photography drawing, collage and book arts, what fuses all the work is each artist’s clear vision, born of years of thinking about and making art and the intention to communicate with the viewer. Although much of the work is subtle and complex, prompting thoughtful contemplation, the underlying story of this exhibition is about art as a way to connect with the audience in a direct and meaningful way.
“In curating this exhibition I was once again astounded by the variety of the human endeavor called creativity and the need for people to create and make things” said Joyce Ellen Weinstein, curator and participating artist. “That was the thrill for me, seeing the remarkable variation of styles, types, media, ideas and thoughts of individuals and how their personal perceptions translated into concrete objects of art”.
Participating artists include: Marilyn Banner, Dana Cibulski, Jane Dell, Larry Dell, Betsy Goldberg, Steven Graubart, Pauline Jakonsberg, Yvette Kraft, Rich Levitt, Robert Lobe, Elizabeth Mead, Alan Montgomery, John Thomas Paradiso, Joe Raskin, Michelle Stone, Susan May Tell, John Tomlinson, Joyce Ellen Weinstein and Joyce Zipperer.
