Pablo Helguera – The Seven Bridges of Königsberg – Card Reading System
The title is derived from a legendary 18th century mathematical problem that became the foundation of modern graph theory. Participants may conduct a self-assessment of their personality type or engage in a dialogue with Helguera regarding what the selections say about themselves and their present state of mind. No single selection brings the same interpretation, and the readings may be used to answer questions and formulate answers, whether of a personal or general nature.
Nina Kuo/ Lorin Roser – OFF World – Odyssey – Photo Booth Space Props
Props by Nina Kuo and the mural and models by Lorin Roser. Using an architectural space age set created by the frequently collaborating artist couple, participants are invited to take group photographs or pose with a variety of artist made props with a decidedly other worldly feel. Videos are also an option.
Samm Cohen – Poetic Devices – Word Jewelry
Pieces made out of recycled paper language along with hypoallergenic stainless steel. Recycling is about seeing the beauty in things we pass by as refuse, and being innovative to rebirth it into something fresh. In this case, the use of letters and words, these symbolic writings, are a base to pull poetic form and create distinctively captured word art. Each is one-of-a-kind and with words of your choice personalized for you! Specially priced for Serious Fun and finished while you watch.
…Including Food and Cocktail Performances
Joan Fitzsimmons and Jeanne Criscolas Collaborations – Oral History: Recipe Memories – Comfort Food
The project draws from the idea that a recipe is a microcosm that embodies identity, culture, and memory. Like making art, a recipe is a blend of formula, inspiration, and performance-all subject to change for any reason. When a recipe is shared, the exchange is more than just a list of ingredients on paper complete with spills and smudges. Recipes evoke a dynamic range of emotions and are an expression of who we really are and where we come from. Menu for Serious Fun includes Olive Cheese Puffs, Corn Black Bean Salad, Laura’s Chicken Salad and Jeanne’s Raw Pasta.
