Blobs Away, 2013

Back spent four days along the banks of the Schuykill River in Philadelphia creating this artwork. She started the images on a sunny day, surrounded by fishermen. Overnight there was a storm and upon her return to the same spot she found oil rings over the surface of the water, a terrible smell, and no fishermen.
