Blue: Water as Metaphor, 2025

Artist’s book made in collaboration with Sophie Sanders. Sabra Booth and Sophie Sanders met while living in New York City in the early 2000s. They collaborated on the artist’s book, Blue: Water as Metaphor, for an exhibition at Northwest Vista College in San Antonio, Texas, in 2025. The book utilizes an accordion fold. One side depicts Sanders’ poetic observations of waves and microscopic water samples, using the technique of cyanotype on fabric. On the other side, Booth prints woodcuts on top of linen painted with watercolor patterns, evoking nightfall over water. This soft fabric book is tactilely sensual and accompanied by a printed fabric bag.
