grammar: with and without windows, 2024

What is a window but a transparent shield, a nearly invisible plane that separates as it connects and divides? The ultimate fate of a window is to break. The glass vanishes, the space is liberated. That said, what is grammar? (The title is a quote from Gertrude Stein’s How to Write.)

Collapsible drawing, laser print on translucent vellum, connected vertically, with text page insert. (Three small holes at the top facilitate hanging.)

8.5 x 14 inches, hanging: 51 inches
