Acrylic, sumi ink, graphite, ballpoint pen, felt tip pen on front and back of paper
How do I sense the depth of a piece of paper, which has a front and back? How do you see the physical and immaterial depth of a painting? Like when opening a greeting card, opening a folded paper presents the feeling of welcoming and intimacy. I like the bodily engagement of the welcoming and, through the imaginative and spontaneous painting process, wanted to explore the materiality of the paper and the paint materials. I consider time as another dimension derived from the accumulation of material and processes such as coloring, dripping, drawing, rubbing etc.—which helps to feel the painting’s presence.
