The Bridge at the Center of the World, 2025

Completed in 2025, this is an artist book about a trip to Serbia in 2012 for an art residency a decade after the violent breakup of Yugoslavia. Illustrated with forty pages of photos from my bus trip with artist friends from Belgrade to Višegrad, it documents telling details that might help me understand this complicated place. The front and back covers are hand-printed in mokuhanga woodcut, everything printed on Japanese Kozuke paper. Covers are separated from text with red gampi endpapers. The book was hand bound with red linen thread a decade after the trip itself, tying together images to make sense of another time and place.
